'This case is too big.' Sam picked up the case and shook it so the contents rattled around inside.
'Use it anyway, what have you got to lose?' Larisa said.
He looked at it again and shook his head. 'No, it’s far too big. Got anything smaller?'
'Ok.' she sighed, 'I'll have a look.' She opened the cupboard door and took out all the things that had been dumped in it over time.
'Hey.' She said.
'What?'
'Look at this.' She pulled out a wine red handbag that had collapsed into itself. It was still in good condition and she wondered why she had "retired" it.
'Ok, apart from the fact that that thing is way too small... it's also not my colour.' Sam rolled his eyes.
'No, it’s not for you silly,' She laughed as she turned the bag around in her hands. It smelled like her. It was empty but she checked anyway, feeling around inside it. Larisa always left coins in her old bags, for luck maybe? There was a pen, a rolled up pack of gum and train tickets from that journey she took to say goodbye to him. Ah! That’s why it’s in here.
